Bernadette Papawassiliou-Schreckenberg is a lawyer, registered at the Athens Bar Association (since 1990) and practicing litigation as well as legal counseling in the areas of commercial, economic and civil law, with a focus on Private International Law and International Litigation.
Based on her career as a counsel, she has acquired a special expertise in the solution of cross-border disputes, both as a negotiator and (since 2008) as a mediator.
As coordinator for mediation of the Arbitration- and Mediation Centre of the German- Hellenic Chamber of Industry and Commerce (www.oddee.gr), she has organized numerous conferences, seminars and workshops (including a “Mindfulness for Mediators” series), for the promotion of mediation in Greece.
Being also a CEDR-trainer, she is a faculty member of the Athens University E-learning Department for its newly launched Mediation Foundation Program.
Bernadette is founding member of the Hellenic Mediators’ Union and member of the Working Group for Mediation of the German Bar Association (Arge Mediation des Deutschen Anwaltvereins).

Bernadette Papawassiliou-Schreckenberg ist als seit 1990 zugelassene Rechtsanwältin mit den Schwerpunkten Handels-, Wirtschafts- und Zivilrecht in Athen sowohl als Prozessanwältin als auch beratend tätig (insbesondere auf dem Gebiet des Internationalen Privat- und Prozessrechts).
Aus ihrer Beratungstätigkeit heraus hat sie eine Expertise für die Beilegung grenzüberschreitender Streitigkeiten durch Verhandlungen und (seit 2008) Mediation erworben.
Als Koordinatorin für Mediation der Schiedsgerichts- und Mediationsstelle der Deutsch-Griechischen Industrie- und Handelskammer (www.oddee.gr) hat sie zahlreiche Kongresse, Seminare und Workshops (einschließlich der Reihe „Achtsamkeit für Mediatoren“) zur Etablierung der Mediation in Griechenland organisiert.
Sie ist Mitglied des Lehrkörpers der Abteilung f. Fernstudien der Universität Athen für das neuerstellte Mediatoren-Ausbildungsprogramm, und CEDR-Trainer.
Bernadette ist Gründungsmitglied der Griechischen Mediatoren-Vereinigung und Mitglied der Arge Mediation des Deutschen Anwaltvereins.
