Theophilus Ekpon is currently the Executive Director of the Centre for Sustainable Development and Education in Africa (CSDEA) and also the Coordinator of the Sahel Network on Preventing Violent Extremism (SNPVE). Prior to this position, he worked for the United Nations in New York and Nigeria on issues of poverty reduction, population, and peacebuilding. He is a mediator and in collaboration with boscop and inmedio berlin developed the Governance and Dialogue Program where local government officials in Nigeria make use of reflective dialogue to work with their constituents and stakeholders to ensure transparency and inclusivity in governance. He has also worked extensively with traditional institutions in Africa to train them on mediation and dialogue. Theophilus Ekpon is a co-Chair of the Federal Government of Nigeria Steering Committee on the International Dialogue for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (IDPS) and its New Deal for Engagement in Fragile and Conflict Affected States, and a member of the United Nations Inter-Agency Working Group on Youth Participation in Peacebuilding. He was a past Chairperson of the Global Civil Society Platform for Peacebuilding and Statebuilding (CSPPS), where he also served as a member of the Executive Committee in charge of Global Policy and Engagement including issues of countering and preventing violent extremism. He presently serves as CSPPS Representative for Nigeria. Theophilus Ekpon holds a masters degree in International Politics.

Theophilus Ekpon ist derzeit Exekutivdirektor des Centre for Sustainable Development and Education in Africa (CSDEA) und Koordinator des Sahelnetzwerks zur Verhütung von gewalttätigem Extremismus (SNPVE). Zuvor arbeitete er für die Vereinten Nationen in New York und Nigeria in den Bereichen Armutsbekämpfung, Bevölkerung und Friedensförderung.
Er ist Mediator und hat in Zusammenarbeit mit boscop und inmedio berlin das Governance and Dialogue Program entwickelt, bei dem lokale Regierungsbeamte in Nigeria den reflektierenden Dialog nutzen, um mit ihren Wählern und Stakeholdern für Transparenz und Inklusivität in der Regierungsführung zu sorgen.
